Correlation between magnetooptical Kerr rotation and anomalous Hall effect in FePt/Pt multilayer films

Abstract

Multilayer films composed of FePt ordered alloy and Pt were fabricated by an ion beam sputtering method. Two different linear relationships between the Kerr rotation θK and the Hall angle ρ{variant}H/ρ{variant} were obatained for FePt layer thickness (dFePt) smaller and larger than 50 Å, suggesting a significant change in the electronic structure around dFePt = 50 A ̊.
