Contra-IL 2 activity of a lymphokine produced by a hybrid cell line of ALS-induced suppressor T cells

Abstract

We have recently demonstrated that a hybrid cell line derived from splenic T cells of ALS-treated mice produces an antigen nonspecific suppressor lymphokine that inhibits allogeneic cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) generation, T cell proliferation to alloantigens and mitogens, and IL 2 induced proliferation of IL 2-dependent cytotoxic T cell line (CTLL) (contra-IL 2 activity). The present studies were done to further characterize the immunosuppressive properties of the suppressor lymphokine with contra-IL 2 activity.
