Conductivity variation of yttria-stabilized zirconia under stress

Abstract

Electrical conductivity of 10 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (10YSZ) and YBa2Qi307-s (YBCO) under stress were measured in the temperature range from 600°C to 800°C for 10YSZ and at 600°C for YBCO. It was observed that conductivity under stress slightly decreased for 10YSZ and increased for YBCO. In the case of 10YSZ, the conductivity change was caused by the change in mobility. In the case of YBCO, the conductivity change was caused by the change in mobility and change in carrier concentration.
