Abstract

The concept of a novel dynamic park-and-ride service is proposed which provides car users with variety of transport transfer guidance information for mode choice situations, enabled with new-type car navigation devices called as ITS on-board units and the 5.8GHz DSRC roadside beacons. The roadmap for a national ITS FOT model city project in Kashiwa in the suburbs of Tokyo in accordance with the beacon installation schedule is provided. The moving-based driving simulator with car navigation devices is introduced as an effective tool for parameter studies.
