Abstract

The equation-of-state of C60 has been measured under high static pressure up to 11 GPa at room temperature by synchrotron X-ray diffraction using a cubic anvil press. The equation-of-state data yielded the bulk modulus and its pressure derivative of C60 to be 15.6(0.8) GPa and 6.3(0.5), respectively. The bulk modulus is compared with previous experiments and existing calculations.
