Abstract

Compositional and mechanical stability issues of (La,Sr)(Co,Fe)O 3 electrode were evaluated in terms of the behavior of the material under operation conditions. Electrochemical impedance measurement was performed to estimate the oxygen potential gradient in the electrode layer, which was found to be large enough to cause kinetic decomposition. Dependence of elastic behaviors on temperature and oxygen partial pressure was measured, and risk of mechanical failure caused by the cathode layer was discussed.
