N2 - The present study aims at comparing the parameter optimization method (POM) for beat-to-beat estimation of Emax with the traditional one. On the basis of an animal experiment using an adult goat, two kinds of estimate of Emax were obtained from the two methods. The correlation coefficient between these estimates was about 0.8-0.9. This means that the POM can give similar estimation of Emax to the traditional method.
