Coherent dynamics of an asymmetric particle in a vertically vibrating bed

Abstract

A study on the coherent dynamics of an asymmetric particle in a vertically vibrating bed was presented. Distinct transitions from Brownian-like motion to coherent motion, on which a simple dimensional analysis is performed to show the generality of the finding was observed. The experimental results to demonstrate that the coherent transport of a particle emerges out of fluctuations were presented.
