Abstract
A clinical study was performed on 106 patients with previously untreated laryngeal cancer registered in Iwaki Kyoritsu General Hospital for 9 years between 1998 and 2007. Their mean age was 68 years. The male to female ratio was 14 : 1. The smokers were 99%. In 106 patients, 63 were glottic type, 42 supra-glottic type, 1 sub-glottic type. The 5-year type-specific survival rates were 78.1% in overall, 87.6% in glottic type, 62.8% in supra-glottic type. Our regional characteristics and life backgrounds of our patients were discussed.
