Abstract
The structures of cis and trans forms of a binuclear subphthalocyanine (SubPc) have been determined by X-ray crystallography (see pictures). Electronic absorption and magnetic circular dichrosim spectra of these dimers are similar in shape, but the Q band of the trans isomer appears at longer wavelength than that of the cis isomer by about 3-4 nm.
