Chemical synthesis of Eu2+-doped barium silicate phosphors by advanced aqueous solution method using novel water-soluble silicon compound

    Abstract

    The single phase BaSi2O5 doped with Eu2+ was successfully synthesized by an aqueous solution method using a novel water-soluble silicon compound in combination with NH4Cl as a flux. The intensity of the emission peak of thus obtained BaSi2O 5:Eu2+ was ∼2 times higher than that of a sample prepared by a solid-state reaction method.
