    Abstract

    This paper investigates chemical stress relaxation for rubber vulcanizates having different extents of trapped entanglements. Networks were prepared in the swollen state in order to obtain topologies simpler than those prepared by conventional vulcanization. Then, chemical stress relaxation was measured for networks prepared in the swollen and dry state. In addition, stress-strain behavior and x-ray diffraction patterns for both networks were investigated.
