Abstract
The systematic magnetic characterization for realization of CoCr-based perpendicular magnetic recording media with high squareness and normalized coercivity was discussed. It was found that the with decreasing measuring temperature from R. T. t 4.2 K, normalized coercivity Hc/Hkgrain, increased for the medium strongly influenced by thermal agitation. The analysis showed that an exchange decoupled medium tends to show a large positive Hn/Hkgrain, which resulted in a significant decrease of squareness.
