Abstract

This paper describes the structure and the basic operations of a new orthogonal-core type motor, which can effectively utilize the local energies such as wind and solar power. For this motor, the rotational direction, rotational speed and supplied powers are easily controlled by adjusting the phase angle between the primary and secondary voltages. The motor can be used as a speed controlling device or a multi-function-al power controlling device in industrial applications and power conversion systems in the future.
