The change of ac susceptibility χi and dc magnetization σ with heat-treatments are studied at various temperatures in rapidly quenched Cu99.2Fe0.8 alloy in the temperature range between 4.2 and 300 K. When the heat-treatments temperature TA is below 600 K, no change of these magnetic properties are observed. With increasing TA, χi and σ at 4.2 K increase and the transition temperature from paramagnetic to spin-glass which is observed clearly in the as-quenched state is not observed above 4.2 K. Further, if TA is raised above 700 K χi and σ decreases and exhibit a minimum at TA≈850 K, where paramagnetic Curie temperature also exhibits a minimum of about -100 K. Above 850 K precipitation of α-Fe and γ-Fe are confirmed by the magnetization measurement and electron microscopy observation, respectively. Based on the data of magnetic properties, the growth of magnetic clusters with heat-treatment are discussed.
