Abstract

Photoreactive crown ethers were prepared to elucidate their cation transporting efficiency and selectivity. The poly(s-isobutyl ethylenimine) derivative of the crown ether transports Rb** plus cation most effectively among the alkali cations. The transport efficiency of the polymer was decreased on uv irradiation in spite of the enhancement of the binding ability.
