Abstract

Studies were carried out on the sliding characteristics of ceramics in synthetic oils both with and without SP-type extreme pressure additives, in particular the load carrying capacity, wear, friction and surface chemistry. Sensitive compatibility was observed between oils and ceramic materials and it seems that this compatibility is the result of chemomechanical effects, mechanochemical reactions and adsorbability.
