Abstract
A method for building the offshore boundary condition is proposed for case of a tide composed of several components of different incident angles and different amplitudes. An actual shoreline is approximated by a straight line. The reflected wave is considered as a mirror image of the incident wave with respect to this imaginary boundary. The simple assumption causes some errors due to the difference of an actual shoreline from the imaginary one, the complex topography of a sea bottom and scattered waves. These errors are investigated by numerical experiments.
