New bisaxially coordinated phthalocyaninato metal compounds were synthesized by melting azopyridines and phthalocyaninato metals such as phthalocyaninato iron (II) and phthalocyaninato cobalt (II). These complexes were characterized by using NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectra, and TG/DTA.
