Biphoton interferometry to observe photonic de Broglie wavelength

Abstract

Biphoton interference experiments were demonstrated using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Interferometric oscillations corresponding to the photonic de Broglie wavelength of the biphoton were observed. Degenerate photon pairs at 861.6 nm were selected using two pinholes after the spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC). The biphoton state exhibited the interference as a wave with half wavelength of the single photon state.
