Behavior of positronium in polystyrene and its derivatives

Abstract

The polystyrene, poly(4-bromostyrene) and poly(4-vinylphenol) are investigated using slow positron beam based on electron linac. There was a difference in the intensity of long-lived component of lifetime in o-Ps (τ3). The S-parameter and the intensity of τ3 were strongly influenced by the presence of the substituents of polystyrene. In thin films, irradiation effect caused by positron beam was observed.
