The local deformation and elastic modulus of stretched natural rubber vulcanizates were calculated from the force-distance curves measured by atomic force microscopy and two-dimensional mappings of these properties were conducted. The height image taken by force volume mode is somewhat affected by sample deformation. We corrected it by adding the deformation image to obtain real height image. The local modulus was varied from several MPa to several hundred MPa from place to place, though its macroscopic value was MPa order.
