Abstract

The bacterial iron oxidation process was applied to a hydrometallurgical dust treatment plant and to the hydrogen sulfide gas treatment process for a barium salts plant. In the dust treatment plant, the effects of adopting the biochemical process are cost reduction and higher metal recoveries. In the case of gas treatment, costs are reduced and operation becomes easier to control by employing this process.
