Antiferromagnetic correlations in the double-zigzag-chain complex oxide Er2Ba2CuPtO8

Magnetization measurements of the title semiconductor show that (1) the antiferromagnetic correlations of the Cu2+(S = 1/2) develops along the chain below 60 K and (2) the antiferromagnetic ordering of Er3+ moments appears below 7 K, determined by the strong anisotropy of the crystalline fields.
