abstract = "A polarized Raman study of a nanographite ribbon deposited on a highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) substrate was discussed. The study shows evidence for anisotropic character of light scattering in this system. It was also observed that the Raman peak of the nanographite ribbons exhibited an intensity dependence on the light polarization direction relative to the nanographite ribbon axis. Raman results confirmed the presence of nodes in the optical absorption spectra of graphite.",
