Abstract
The anisotropy taking place in thermal expansion of rubber toughened system was investigated. The materials used in the study were polypropylene homopolymers and poly(ethyl-co-octene). The coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) of the samples was measured using TMA between -50°C and 100°C under the 5g of load at the heating rate of 4°C/min. The CLTE was further analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The TEM observations revealed that the shape of the EOR domain was 'slab', the normal vector of which was parallel to the ND.
