Anisotropic growth and structural analysis of single crystal using liquid crystal solvent for molecular alignment controlled organic transistors

Abstract

We have successfully developed the uniaxialfy-oriented single crystalline film formation technique of the soluble organic semiconductor (benzothienobenzothiophene) which combined liquid crystal solvent with rubbing-treated solution cell As further study, we revealed that the one of crystal axes in those films was oriented along the direction of liquid crystal alignment.
