Angular distribution of Auger electrons in resonantly enhanced transitions from 3p photoexcited Ca+ ions

Abstract

The yield and angular distribution of the Auger electrons from the lowest transitions in 3p photoexcited Ca+ ions are measured in the photon energy range 31-34 eV. Both are strongly influenced by the resonance structure of the Ca 3p → 3d excitation. An analysis of the observed angular distribution is given on the basis of the resonant cascade model.
