Angular distribution measurements for spin-orbit-state-resolved S 2p photoelectrons of SF6in the shape-resonance region

Abstract

Monochromatized synchrotron radiation from a 24-m spherical grating monochromator was used to measure the angular distribution of the spin-orbit state resolved S 2p photoelectrons of SF6. Relative partial photoionization cross sections and the asymmetry parameters of the photoelectrons were measured in the vicinity of shape-resonance region. The continuum multiple-scattering (CMS) calculations showed a broad dip in the excitation photon energy dependence of asymmetry parameters at the photon energies of resonance.
