Relating to the recent observation of terahertz electromagnetic waves from the intrinsic Josephson junction of Bi2 Sr2 CaCu2 O8, we investigate, by numerical simulation, properties of the emitted electromagnetic waves from the in-phase intrinsic Josephson junctions. By use of the two-dimensional model, we consider the size effects and obtain the angular dependence of emitted waves, which gives much information on patterns of excited electromagnetic waves inside the junctions. Waves are emitted all the direction of the junction-plane, and due to the oscillatory Josephson current, they show similar pattern as the dipole emission.
