Abstract
Photocurrent vs. potential and quantum efficiency vs. photon energy curves were measured on passive films of Fe-Cr alloys, pure Fe and pure Cr in neutral Na//2SO//4 solutions. The same measurements were conducted on thin films of gamma - and alpha -Fe//2O//3, Cr//2O//3, NiO, and composite oxides of Fe//2O//3-Cr//2O//3 formed on Pt using a metal oxide chemical vapor deposition technique. Conduction types and bandgaps were examined based on results from thin films.
