This paper describes an analysis of the behavior of a linear parametric motor. The primary of the linear motor uses a 4-legged laminated iron core and the secondary is constructed with aluminum plate and Fe-Si sheets. The oscillation voltage, currents and static thrust of the linear motor are calculated numerically based on a magnetic circuit model. The calculated values agree well with the measured ones. The analytical method presented here is useful for the optimum design of a linear parametric motor with 4-legged core.
