Abstract
A method is presented for analysis of γ -carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) in marine invertebrate shell matrices. It is based on the enrichment of Gla by BaSO4 adsorption of the alkaline hydrolysate. its precolumn derivatization with 4-dimethylamino-4'-azobenzene sulfonyl chloride (DABS-Cl) and subsequent reversed-phase HPLC analysis.
