Analysis and Measurement of Diode Mounting Meta-surface for Reflection Beam Control

Abstract

We proposed to adopt meta-surface to improve the propagation environment of IoT (Internet of Things). Metasurface set close to IoT terminal can be changing the reflection direction of radio waves. It is also possible to switch the beam direction using diodes attached to each patch of meta-surface. However, the circuit design to control the ON and OFF the voltage of the diode on this meta-surface, the study on the influence of this bias circuit on the radiation characteristics of the meta-surface is insufficient, and the diode-mounted metasurface Evaluation by measurement of was not carried out. To address the issues, we design the bias circuit for the diode mounted meta-surface that can switch the beam direction by changing on and off this diode and achieved the method to avoid the undesired radiation from the feed line of bias circuit.
