An improved sensorless driving method of switched reluctance motors: Speed control case

Abstract

A simple and practical sensorless driving method was proposed using impressed voltage pulse at a unenegized phase. The method was based on the inherence magnetic characteristics of switched reluctance motors (SRM). The exciting time was also obtained from the peek of the output of the filter based on the structure size of SRM. The experimental results confirmed that the proposed method was useful.
