An automated geometric correction method for NOAA AVHRR images

Abstract

For a long-term analysis of satellite images, the image registration is a very important issue. We developed an automated geometric correction method for NOAA AVHRR images. The feature of the method is using the fractal dimension to evaluate GCP templates. We successfully processed 33 scenes and obtained registered images.
