Alternating copolymerization of cyclic germylenes with N-phenyl-p-quinoneimine via oxidation-reduction process

Abstract

A study was conducted to report a new 1:1 oxidation-reduction alternating copolymerization of cyclic germylenes with N-phenyl-p-quinoneimine. Three cyclic germylenes in combination with N-phenyl-p-quinoneimine gave alternating copolymers with high molecular weight in all reactions. The copolymerization of cyclic germylenes with a quinoneimine gave 1:1 alternating copolymers regardless of the germylene structure.
