Abstract

An injection monolithic mode-locked laser diode (MLLD) was used to study ultrahigh speed clock extraction at up to 80 Gbit/s. The clock extraction with MLLDs showed ability to operate at ultrahigh speed conditions with low excess timing jitter and ultrashort extracted clock pulse generation.
