Abstract
For a revision of Salicaceae of Japan (Ohashi 2000, 2001, 2006), results of this paper are as follows: 7) Salix matsudana Koidz. is regarded as conspecific with S. babylonica L. and treated newly as a variety, S. babylonica van matsudana (Koidz.) H. Ohashi & Yonek. Salix matsudana var. tortuosa Vilm., a form with twisted branches that is often cultivated in China and Japan, is recognized here as S. babylonica 'Tortuosa'. 8) Salix urbaniana Seemen var. schneideri Miyabe & Kudô is typified by the original illustration of the variety. 9) Salix × arikae H. Ohashi & Yonek., a presumed hybrid between S. caprea L. and S. futura Seemen is named. 10) Salix ×sakaii H. Ohashi & Yonek. is named for a presumed hybrid between S, Integra Thunb. and S. shiraii Seemen. And 11) Salix × koidzumii Kimura described first from Sakhalin is found widely in eastern Japan.
