Abstract

An adaptive dispersion slope equalizer (ADSE) for dispersion-shifted fibers (DSF) was realized. The device equalized the temperature-change-induced dispersion fluctuation of an 83 km DSF over a temperature range of 70 °Centigrade. The equalizer is applicable to 160 Gbit/s optical time division multiplexing systems.
