Abstract

A thermoacoustic Stirling engine was developed based on traveling wave energy conversions. An acoustic field in the engine through simultaneous measurements of velocity and pressure was also experimentally investigated. It was observed that the engine's efficiency reaches above 40% of the Carnot efficiency.
