A study on indoor physical activity monitoring using Bluetooth signal strength

Abstract

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is extremely important to measure the physical activity of elderly persons or check improvements in the patient. To obtain more information about someone’s health, long-term monitoring is extremely important. In this paper, an easy embedding, inexpensive, and non-contact method has been discussed for long-term monitoring using Bluetooth signals. These two types of activities have been distinguished, such as standing and moving, using a statistical analysis and a linear discriminant analysis.
