Abstract
We report the existence of the type-III short-range spin correlation far above TN in a single crystal of the low-carrier heavy-fermion compound, YbAs. The correlation lengths parallel and perpendicular to the [1, 0, 0] direction at (1, 0, 0.5) are obtained to be 2.8 and 4.5 Å at 1.5 K (∼37N), respectively.
