Abstract

[60]Fullerene reacted with aryloxy- and alkoxyketenes, generated in situ from the corresponding acid chlorides and triethylamine, to give the 1:2 adducts in good yields. The reaction proceeded via a formal [2+2] cycloaddition, followed by enolization and acylation.
