A new technique for accurate measurement and adjustment of the phase of microwave pulses in the pulsed EPR experiment is presented. In this technique, the quadrature FID signals of single-line EPR and its Lissajous display are used. This method is more advantageous than the standard phase measurement technique, in the following aspects: no expensive equipment such as a network analyzer is needed, the measurement can be done under the same instrumental conditions as those used in the pulsed EPR experiment, and this technique can be used in any frequency range where EPR experiments are carried out. The procedure to minimize the phase error and application to CY-CLOPS are described. The errors resulting from improper phase setting are compared with theoretical analyses.
