Abstract

A new triplet species is detected by ESR from 2-nitrobiphenyl after ultraviolet light irradiation. The zero-field splitting parameters are |D|=0.0490 cm-, |E|=0.0048 cm- The temperature dependence of the ESR spectra indicates that the triplet state observed is a ground state.
