A mode-locked ytterbium doped holey fiber laser

Abstract

A mode-locked laser based on doped holey fiber was discussed. Holey fiber was produced by first constructing a jacketed preform using the conventional capillary stacking approach, with a Yb3+ doped glass rod used to define the core. The results showed that these fibers were extremely useful in a variety of pulse laser application.
