Rapid chemical syntheses of D‐[1‐11C]glucopyranose and D‐[1‐11C]galactopyranose starting from D‐arabinopyranose and D‐lyxopyranose, respectively, are described. The use of diborane for reduction of intermediates in highly effective for reducing the time required.
