A comparative study of thermal conductivity in alloys and compounds

The thermal conductivity of intermetallic compounds with an ordered crystal structure is characterized as a sum of the basic contribution of a disordered solid solution and the enhanced effect due to ordering. The empirical rule governing the thermal conductivity in intermetallic compounds is analogous to that in solid solution alloy.
