Abstract

We propose a new cluster-cluster aggregation model which includes the expected complex reaction process near the sol-gel transition of a SiO2 system. This model explains the experimental fact that the fractal dimension of the silica-gel shows an interesting dependence on the amount of the water solvent. We also give a simple analytic result using mean-field theory.
